Things to do

east hampton nature walk
Winter hiking
  • Go for a nature walk.
  • See listings in the local paper for lectures, workshops, museum exhibits and theater and live music events around town. Highly recommend grabbing a hard copy of The East Hampton Star, printed Thursdays or check out The Independent‘s event calendar or the event calendar on 27east.com — the online resource for the Southampton and East Hampton Press.
  • Sign up for the newsletter at local cultural centers to stay up-to-date on events. Here are a few favorites: Parrish Art Museum, Southampton Arts Center, Guild Hall, Bay Street Theater, East Hampton Library, and John Jermain Memorial Library.
  • Take a fitness class. Soul Cycle, Fly Barre, Mandala Yoga, Exhale and many more studios offer classes year round.
  • See a movie, or maybe a documentary from the year-round Hamptons Doc Fest. Note: the beginning of October marks the Hamptons International Film Festival.
  • Take your workday to a co-working space. Visit The Spur in Southampton (opening soon in East Hampton) or The SHED (open to women only) in Sag Harbor.
  • Join the Quail Hill Winter Share and pick fresh greens in the greenhouse, plus collect boxed roots vegetables and make dinner at home. Light a fire to make it extra cozy. And if you’ve got a firepit, I recommend some early evening hot chocolate while you keep your feet warm and take in the fresh air.
  • Become a member at Channing Daughters and enjoy year-round tastings, wine discounts, and special events.

I do my best to keep everything up to date, but it’s always a good idea to double check specials and openings.
